Automation Sales Engineer

One of our current clients is a leading multi branch national distributor of industrial automation products such as PLCs, Drives, Process Instrumentation and Low Voltage Controls etc. They are well established turning over in excess of £25million per annum. They distribute on behalf of world class companies such as Siemens, Honeywell, AEG, General Electric and Bussmann etc. They are now seeking to employ a Sales Engineer to primarily increase business through exisitng customers (80%) and develop new business (20%). Based within a 30 mile radius of the Leeds branch you will split the postcodes LS, BD, HD, WF, HX, HG, YO, S, DN, and HU between yourself and one other Sales Engineer. One day a week is spent in the office planning, appointment making, admin etc and 4 days are out on the road visiting customers. You should be an experienced solution sales person, understanding the customers business and where you can make a difference. You should have knowledge of engineering, manufacturing, plant maintenance or instrumentation etc. You must be able to converse credibly and build relationships with your customers who will range from Buyers, Plant Managers, Maintenance Managers and Engineers etc. The package includes a basic salary of upto a maximum £32,000 (DOE), company car, mobile, laptop, 23 days holiday + 8 bank holidays. Pension and health care after qualifying period. You must have a full driving license and the relevant experience to apply.

Regional Sales Engineer

One of our current clients is a leading distributor of controls for the Refrigeration and HVAC industries. They sell controls and instruments i.e thermostats, temperature gauges, motors, relays, level and flow metres etc. They now require an experienced Field Sales Engineer based around the M62 corridor to cover the North East Job Title : Regional Field Sales Engineer (North East) MAIN PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF JOB: Actively responsible for driving and managing the existing customer, new customer and new business opportunities within the assigned territory. Working closely with the key internal technical and customer service support team ensuring maximum business growth and complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process, in-line with the company’s direction and strategy. AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY: Preparation of territory sales plan on an on-going basis. Making sales visits to existing and new business opportunities within the assigned territory (or outside if required) with and expectation of 3 sales calls per day for a minimum of 4 days per week. To be the 1st point of technical contact for customers promoting the best solution and package to meet the customers needs from the complete company product portfolio. To meet and exceed the territory budget and quotas. To support and generate quotations as required (working closely with the customer support team and suppliers) ensuring all customer needs and competition data is taken into consideration with all quotations to be followed up within 1 week of submission and capture rates are reported. Provide monthly updated rolling forecasts and reports detailing all results of territory bookings, billings, contribution, New Business Opportunities, red flags, market and product trends and voice of customer. To attend monthly meetings (or at short notice if required) to review the territory and company strategy and to ensure you have a complete and working knowledge of the company’s products and direction to be executed in your territory. To ensure you have a close and extensive working relationship the sales office, order processing, quality, despatch and accounts departments to ensure complete customer satisfaction and customer advice is maintained. To liaise by phone and to visit customers and potential customers in your area, issue quotations, distribute literature and respond promptly to their requirements. To liaise with suppliers where necessary supporting lead-time and market pricing improvements to meet customers need while recommending new suppliers and products to ensure the company’s market share and competitive advantage. The Candidate Must be situated somewhere off the M62 from Leeds East through to Hull Self motivation and well organised Self efficiency Positive and enthusiastic outlook Persistent Loyal and trustworthy Good communication, written and oral skills Previous sales experience essential ideally with a technical background Industrial component sales background desirable The Package £28 - £30,0000 salary (depending on experience etc) + £16,000 bonus on target earnings.
